Working with a video production company in Ahmedabad
A film is expensive in one place and cheap in another, and most budgets are lost by not knowing which is which. Crew, talent and location are charged by the day, so what a shoot costs is mostly a function of how many days it takes. Editing is charged by complexity. The practical consequence is that the cheapest way to get a year of content is not to make a cheap film — it is to plan one properly resourced shoot that produces a brand film, a set of product videos, a dozen social cuts and the stills, all in the same two days. That is how we plan most projects, and it is usually the single biggest saving available to a client who has been commissioning films one at a time. Where AI helps we use it: storyboards and previsualisation, generating ad variants for testing, cleanup and upscaling, subtitling and dubbing for Gujarati and Hindi versions. Where it does not help — the decision about what a film should feel like, the performance, the timing of a cut — we do not pretend otherwise.
How we work
Objective and script
We start from what the film has to achieve and who it is for, then write to that. Most clients arrive with an objective rather than a script, which is the better starting point because the script and the shoot plan are really the same decision.
Pre-production
Storyboard, shot list, casting, location recce, permissions, schedule and a costed breakdown. This is where a shoot is made cheap or expensive, and it is the stage clients are most often tempted to skip.
Shoot
Our own crew and equipment, planned to capture everything the content calendar needs rather than only the hero film. Stills are captured alongside video as a matter of course.
Post-production
Edit, colour grade, sound design, music, graphics and subtitles, with two review rounds built into the schedule so revisions are not a surprise.
Delivery
Every aspect ratio and length the platforms need, subtitle files, stills, and archived project files. One shoot, a year of assets.
What it costs
Video is quoted per project against a written treatment and shot list, because the cost drivers — shoot days, crew size, talent, location, post complexity — vary enormously between two films of the same length.
Pass-through costs such as talent, location fees, travel and equipment hire are quoted at cost and shown separately from our production fee, so you can see what is going where.
The most reliable way to reduce cost per asset is to consolidate shoots. If you are planning three films this year, shooting them together will cost meaningfully less than shooting them separately, and we will say so at the quoting stage rather than after.
Why Monk Media One
Our own crew and kit
Not a producer subcontracting every role. That is what keeps turnaround short and cost predictable.
Planned for volume
We plan shoots to produce a content calendar, not a single film, because that is what actually gets used.
Honest about AI
Used where it saves you money, named where it is used, and never presented as live action when it is not.
Three languages
Gujarati, Hindi and English versions with scripting and voiceover handled properly rather than subtitled as an afterthought.
See it in practice
Projects are easier to judge than descriptions. The portfolio has recent work, and the clients page lists who we do it for.
Frequently asked questions
Cost is driven by production days, crew size, talent, location and post-production, not by video length — a thirty-second ad film can cost more than a five-minute corporate video. The single biggest lever is how much you shoot in one go: a two-day shoot planned to produce a year of content costs far less per asset than six separate one-day shoots.
A straightforward corporate or product film usually runs three to five weeks from brief to delivery: a week on script and pre-production, one or two shoot days, and two to three weeks of edit, grade, sound and revisions. Ad films with casting, location scouting and multiple approval rounds take longer, typically six to eight weeks.
We use AI where it genuinely saves time or money: previsualisation and storyboarding, generating variants of an ad for testing, upscaling and cleanup, subtitle and dubbing passes for other languages, and rough cuts. We do not use it to replace the director, the cinematographer or the decision about what a film should feel like. Where a project is fully AI-generated, we say so rather than presenting it as live action.
Either. Most clients come with an objective rather than a script, and we write it — that is usually the better outcome, because the script and the shoot plan are the same decision. If you have a script already we will produce it, and we will tell you honestly if we think it will not work on screen.
Yes. We shoot across Gujarat regularly — Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar — and travel elsewhere in India for projects that need it. Travel and accommodation are quoted at cost and shown separately from the production fee.
The final film in the aspect ratios and resolutions you need — 16:9, 1:1, 9:16 — plus versions cut to the length each platform performs best at, subtitle files, and the stills captured during the shoot. Project files and raw footage can be handed over on request; we archive them for a year either way.
