How we work with clients

Working with a brand strategy and branding agency in Ahmedabad

Brand strategy is the work of deciding, and it is uncomfortable for exactly that reason. Deciding who you are for means accepting who you are not for. Deciding what you stand for means giving up the option of standing for everything, which is what most positioning statements quietly do. The output that matters is not a document; it is a set of decisions specific enough that two people in different departments would make the same call without ringing each other. Our brand strategy work in Ahmedabad usually begins with a gap: what the business believes it is known for, versus what customers actually say when asked. That gap is where the positioning comes from, and it is almost never where the leadership team expected it to be. We find it by talking to the people who talk to customers — the sales team, service, the founder who still takes the difficult calls — and to customers themselves. Then we write the position short enough that the whole company can repeat it, and build the identity and messaging that express it.

Our process

How we work

01

Research

Category and competitor analysis, interviews across your business, and conversations with customers. We are specifically looking for the gap between what you believe you are known for and what people say without prompting.

02

Positioning

A written position — who it is for, what it stands against, what it promises and why that is credible — short enough to be repeated accurately by someone who was not in the room.

03

Messaging and voice

The messaging framework: what is said to whom, in what order. Plus a tone of voice with worked examples, written so that people who are not writers can use it.

04

Identity

Logotype, colour, typography, graphic language and photography direction, built as a working system with real applications. Bilingual and Gujarati typography handled as part of the design.

05

Rollout

Artwork and specification across packaging, signage, vehicles, stationery and digital, with vendor supervision during changeover. This is the stage where rebrands most often fail, so we stay in it.

Engagement models

What it costs

Brand work is quoted per project against a written scope, and staged: research and positioning first, identity second, rollout third, with a decision point between each. You can stop after any stage with a usable output.

Staging exists because it protects you, not us. It means you are never committed to a five-month programme on the strength of a first meeting, and you know what the next stage costs before you agree to it.

Rollout production — print, signage, vehicle wraps, packaging plates — is pass-through and quoted at cost. We would rather scope down to what will actually be produced than sell a programme whose second half never gets used.

Why us

Why Monk Media One

We turn this work down

A rebrand is a satisfying way to avoid a harder problem. If your issue is elsewhere, you will hear that before you are quoted.

Decisions, not a deck

The test is whether two people in different departments would make the same call without conferring.

Evolution before replacement

Existing recognition is measured and treated as an asset, particularly for established Gujarat businesses.

We stay for the rollout

Guidelines nobody applies are the most common outcome of a rebrand, and the easiest to prevent.

Recent work

See it in practice

Projects are easier to judge than descriptions. The portfolio has recent work, and the clients page lists who we do it for.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Brand strategy is the set of decisions — who you are for, what you stand for, what you promise, how you are different and how you sound. Branding is how those decisions are expressed: the name, identity, packaging and communication. Doing the second without the first produces something attractive that nobody can explain, which is why so many identities get redone within three years.

A focused positioning project runs four to six weeks. Adding identity takes it to eight to twelve. A full programme with research, naming, identity system and rollout planning typically runs three to five months. Engagements are staged, so you can stop after any stage with a usable output and know what the next one costs before committing.

Possibly not. A rebrand is a satisfying way to avoid a harder problem, and we turn down this work fairly often. It is worth doing when the brand no longer matches what the business has become, when several brands need consolidating, when you are moving upmarket, or when you are entering a market where your current recognition means nothing. If your problem is that enquiries have dropped, the answer is probably elsewhere.

A positioning statement short enough for the whole company to repeat, a messaging framework covering what you say to whom, a tone of voice with worked examples, and — where the engagement includes identity — the full identity system with working applications and guidelines. Decisions and usable assets, not a document that gets filed.

We involve them, because the answers are usually already inside the business. Sales teams know the objection that comes up on every call; operations know which promise is hardest to keep. A typical engagement includes interviews across the business and at least one working session with the leadership group, and the output is stronger for it.

Yes. Naming is part of the work where a new name is genuinely needed, and we run availability and trademark screening early — before anyone in the room has fallen in love with an option that turns out to be unusable.
